Hyundai has been a mainstay at the Super Bowl for the past few years and this year they will apparantly have no less than three commercials shown. At a dinner sponsored by Hyundai at SEMA 2011, Hyundai CEO John Krafcik officially announced to all in attendance that the Veloster would indeed be made available with a turbocharged direct injection 1.6L engine in 2012 and that it would be revealed at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Tonight at an invitation only SEMA dinner, Hyundai CEO John Krafcik announced to all in attendance that there will indeed be a turbocharged variant of the Hyundai Veloster next year.



This rumor has been going around for a while and Krafcik has often remarked that if you want a turbocharged Hyundai to get a Genesis Coupe. Now they have finally confirmed what many people in the industry have been speculating.
